So Jose has been sacked by Man Utd. Bad news for everyone not associated with MUFC. Bit worried they could appoint the right person with a good DOF and with the resources they have, they could be right in the title mix next season.
I was really looking forward to Jose dragging them down into the bottom half of the table, but having them compete with Bournemouth and Everton instead of the top5 for a while is a good consolation prize.

Prefer King Kenny to Sir Kenny Dalglish. KK has a much nicer ring to it. Besides, when did kings ever get knighted?

Congratulations MO SALAH!
Little worried Real/ Barca will start sniffing around now. They seem to have a thing for PFA player of the year winners. Suarez, Bale, Hazard very soon.

Well Spurs winning should be a relief for us. Does not matter if they finish above us as long as we get 4th place. If you are not winning the title, 2nd or 3rd or 4th does not matter as long as there is UCL football on offer next season.
Gives Klopp a chance to rest some players in the derby ( yeah I know but beating City in UCL is more important) and makes it easier for Real to pry Hazard away from Chelsea and keep their grubby paws off Salah.

Are PSG are desperate to sell players to comply with FFP? If that's the case, then PSG will be kicking themselves later on. Selling a player like Veratti for less than a 100 million euros in the current market is absolutely criminal.

I still stand by my opinion that a new top quality forward is desperately needed. We are not winning the league this season unless that happens.
We just need to accept the fact that Mane and Bobby have dropped down a tier in terms of the players that they are, and simply Jota is not going to be enough.
Perfectly happy with our defense and midfield, but our attack over the next 2 seasons is going to need serious freshening up.

Bissouma rumors are heating up now. We may offer up Phillips or Origi plus 30mil pounds to Brighton.
Would be a good signing. But we still need a forward as well. One injury to either of our front 4 and we are in trouble.

Keita out injured again!
At this point, enough is enough. Really difficult to say if the player is unable to cope with Klopp's training regime or its the result of poor personal lifestyle, but its time to cut our losses now. Naby has not exactly pulled up any trees when fit anyways, so doubt he'd be a big loss anyaways.
In an ideal world, we sell him and Origi in January and sign a CB.

I actually agree on Daka. Can play anywhere across the front 3 and is an ice cold killer in front of goal.
The only problem is we will lose 3 attackers at the same time for AFCON 2021. Unless the club plans to cash in on Mane or Salah next summer to raise funds for a younger forward.

Well lads it was a bit disappointing we went out of the league cup the way we did especially against Chelsea but let's remember that we played a reserve back 5 and gave a full first debut to Fabinho who is still finding his feet like Keita in midfield.
On one hand, we lose the opportunity to win a trophy but on the other hand, Klopp and Co can now concentrate on the league and UCL for the next 3 months and then give the FA Cup a real good go.

The most important thing that we learned today is that we have reliable backups to our front 3 that can hold their own against one of the better defences in the league and could have won us the game with better finishing. As much as I would have loved us to beat Chelsea, I would rather we beat them in the league. The UCL and EPL are our priorities and that is the reason why I am not particularly disappointed at getting knocked out.

Imo we can keep the likes of Can, Sterling and Coutinho out of the reaches of Barca, Real and the other heavyweights as long as we are challenging for major honors when these players hit their peak. City have managed to keep Aguero and Silva out of the reach of Real and Barca because they challenge for titles and pay well, same for Chelsea with Hazard, Courtois etc. We just need to challenge for titles than top4 to keep our best players. Its not a foregone conclusion that will leave, the club needs to do enough to keep players for the long run.

Ed001, i meant Johnson is likely to start but i would like to see Lovren given another shot but we all know dear Brendan will do nothing of the sort. Shocking team selection against Everton, clearly showing his inexperience.

Indian Buzzer

{Ed001's Note - I agree mate, I was just saying that it is madness freezing Lovren out.}

Ed004, this is one debate that could have been resolved if a certain Mr Kelly had stayed at the club instead of being forced out by Brendan. Can could have been moved into midfield with Kelly slotting in at RCB. Unfortunately i see Johnson starting against spurs and Can moving to CDM.

Indian Buzzer

{Ed001's Note - surely Lovren can't be a worse option than Johnson or Allen in midfield?}

GK- Mathew Ryan (would cost around 5-7 million GBP)
ST- Ings (because he looks the most likely). Personal preference for Lacazette or Dybala but too expensive
CM- Schneiderlin (cost around 20-25 million GBP)
3 players for a combined cost of around 40 million GBP which will mostly be funded by selling Balo, Borini, Aspas, Alberto, Enrique, Allen, paez, Lambert and unfortunately Teixiera. Kolo, Johnson and Gerrard leaving will also lighten the wage bill s that is another plus.

Hopefully Enrique is next. Sitting on 2.5-3 million GBP a year and has not even played more than 10 games in the last 18 months. Absolute waste of money.
