I wrote this bored during pre-season thought I would share :

Brendan's Big Year?
Rodgers is stuttering into the 2015/16 season, with nothing short of perfection to keep him in his job. After a magnificent second season, the loss of Luis Suarez made for a somewhat abysmal third year in charge, which sparked the question from a lot of reds fans if he was still the man to take the club forward and was it a magical player that made a poor manager look good?
After his reshuffle both on and off the pitch the arrivals of James Milner and Roberto Firmino in particular along with the terrifically talented coach Sean O'Driscoll being brought in as his new assistant manager the Northern Irish man has no more excuses.
In 2013/14 Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge fired Liverpool to their best season since 1990 (2nd) 2 points behind eventual champions Manchester City whilst also scoring the most goals they ever have in the premier league (101). Thus along with the longest winning streak (11) and unbeaten run (16) of any club that season made most football fans with the feeling that Rodgers was a shoe in for manager of the year, before Tony Pulis and Crystal Palace had a phenomenal last half of the season.
In the summer of 2014 Liverpool lost their prized asset Luis Suarez in a £75m transfer to F.C Barcelona, Rodgers then replaced him with the intolerable Mario Balotelli along with the likes of Southampton's Adam Lallana and Benfica's Lazar Markovic to try and plug the gap of the departed phenomenon Luis Suarez, this had a feel of the Spurs fiasco trying to replace Gareth Bale.
At the start of the 2014/15 season all kopites greatest fears became reality as after just 4 wins in their first 12 games and inevitable elimination from the champions league Rodgers was left rocking, but after a change in tactics followed by a 3-0 loss to great rivals Manchester United (14th December), Liverpool's season took a sudden upturn in form going 12 games unbeaten including 9 victories. Yet that was the only highlight in Liverpool's season as a disgraceful defeat in Benfica to eliminate them from Europa League and two semi final losses in the domestic cups left for a sour tasting 6th place finish to the season and Rodgers expected to be axed. Surprisingly with a lot of highly respected managers (Klopp, Benitez and Ancelotti) out of a job by the end of the season and expectation again spiking up, Rodgers seems to have hung on.
Colin Pascoe (assistant manager) and Mike Marsh (first team coach) look to have taken the punishment for the previous season with Brendan Rodgers hanging on and FSG (Fenway Sports Group) again putting their hands in their pockets and splashing money on the likes of Roberto Firmino (£29m), Nathaniel Clyne (£12.5m) and the imminent Christian Benteke (£32.5m) coupled with the fact that Manchester City have effectively paid £49m plus James Milner for the rogue Raheem Sterling Liverpool can be pleased with their transfer business thus far and Brendan Rodgers has no more excuses if his side does not deliver as he has had 3 transfer windows and spent over a whopping £200m since the departure of Luis Suarez, Liverpool just have to deliver.

oh! i'm glad Mr Harry Redknapp is saying we need to give our under performing manager time,
seeing as though he's the all winning, title contending E uropean top dog we can all bow down to his ultimate knowledge
Give over, more likely you know a bottom 6 side when you see one and currently this one is on a par with one or two
I don't know what their watching to give our non cup winning unproven manager the title of coaching genius as from where i'm sitting its more akin to lost in the fog than hooray henry, or harry, ahem

Think Milner's a decent pro and a decent squad member but can't play him centre when Hendo is back - don't work! IMO best formation is 4 - diamond - then 2 up front. When all fit then beat 11 is Bogdan, Clyne, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno, Lucas, Can, Hendo, Cout's, Sturridge, Benteke! (Maybe GOMEZ for Skrtel - at least try him CB in Europe)!

Eds fellow reds , haven't posted for quite a time ,but have to say we look terrible this season no drive no passion and very poor quality . I think BR time is now run its coarse ,there no improvement over the last 2 years . Fog need to step up pretty quick because top 4 gone already for me this year .chelsea will improve so will Spurs .dont see us in top 10 this year .sorry for being negative but we are in a right mess with this set up .

BR won't be sacked after backing him 2 months ago with 100 mill.
We need to find another way to come out. I don't know but He won't be sacked for sure.

For 30yrs I have taken the wins and the losses as the Trials and Tribulations of being a Liverpool fan. We are now however, a laughing stock! I am fearful every time we step onto the field! Palace, Arsenal, Utd, West Ham have all murdered us! And who will ever forget Stoke!!! To see a man lose his job is never nice but, if they don't sack BR he will be the death of us!!

Is it wrong to hope that we actually lose our next few games so that Brendan gets his P45 as soon as possible? Then the club can move on with a competent manager in charge and maybe even make the top4 this season. And i say this because the club will fail miserably again this season if clueless Brenda is still in charge come the season end.

When is the next live phone in with liverpool chairman Warner on LFCTV? The last time it happened, the amount of calls asking for Hodgson to go was too much for FSG to ignore. Let's hope they can hear our frustration with Rodgers.

Can't listen to BR anymore we have not progressed since our defeat at Stoke.

He is so out of his depth it's time to leave.

No more assistants to blame Brenda do the decent thing.

How long is Rodgers going to get before the owners smell the bs? If anything, we look even worse than last season. 0 lessons learned.

A result I expected today although the score was very flattering.

The thing that annoys me is that Rodgers had the winning formula. High pressing football and we where blowing teams away.

Although saurez left Rodgers really should've built on that season but for some reason he chose to go back to possession football playing from the back with slow attacks.

I just really hope the owners don't leave this Muppet in charge much longer.

Lesson from the game, 1, there's no point containing the other team if you offer no threat at the over end. 2, When we want to we can play. Rodgers, please release the shackles.

Enjoy the rest of the season lads/lasses !

That's me done now until FSG replace rodgers. No more games, no more watching them on TV either, just a complete bore and embarresment all the way through.

Shocking and disgraceful. Don't deserve support of us who help pay their wages.

Brenden out!!!

Watching Martial dance around Skrtel.

We have the worst defence in the league. We came to defend against a team with no striker and still got spanked. Taking nothing away from Bentekes beautiful goal. I think the next manager (hopefully next game) will start Clyne, Toure, Sakho, Moreno as back 4. Any sane person would.

I can't watch this crap every week. A cf playing left wing, a cam playing right wing, a winger promised to be played cm and on top of all that, the worst CB pairing I've ever watched in my years. I give up.

That short free kick and corner, West Ham did it multiple times and we didn't see it and now we get punished for it. It's so simple. I just want to go in a hole for 6 months rather than watch us every week. No attacking threat, no defensive abilities and a boring midfield had enough. Firmino stuck out wide all game, go 1-0 and bring on a winger for him?! If he was going to be playing wide why play a striker and attacking mid wide?! Fuming, this is so bad

Its not normal for me to complain publicly, but dear god BR is absoloutly clueless when it comes to tactics and getting the best out of our players.
And I like Firmino, but he is so passive it acctually scares me!

The way we play, benteke will NEVER be able to show his full potential.

I truely feel sorry for some of the new players that have to play under this preassure and under this imbicile manager.

Rant over!

Rodgers has to go. his tactics this season are horrible. he is playing not to lose instead of playing to win. this defeatest attitude is going to absolutely destroy any chance of getting top 4. where is the aggressiveness and creativity up front? no, i don't have a solution as to who should be the next manager, but it's time to start looking and get someone who will at least bring the fun back to the team.

Firmino is no value for money signing. that's for sure but I again blame Rodgers for another poor performance. Situation is hopeless. I predicted 3 - 0. It's 2 - 0 now. no surprise there. No cohesion and passing poor again. It's over Rodgers and he knows it. just taking his big packet until a replacement is found.

We are crying out for someone with pace. We've lost sterling so we have no one to pick the ball up and run. We sent markovic off, lallana going to be injured more than not. Needed to start ibe or moreno, someone with pace, our top 3 doing nothing at the moment. And why 2 centre backs on the bench? No pace at all in our team. But hey Rodgers will stick like this till the last 10 minutes then change it and have some excuse. Sick of the manager not seeing what all of us can see!!

There is no passion, no pride in the shirt. Just rubbish football. Ah well. As long as there are profits, I am sure that's how success in sports are measured, balance sheets, not performances.

Good to hear the fans chanting though. Prefer 11 of them to get a run at old trafford right now.
